Vom Konfliktobjekt zum Konfliktsubjekt: Gesellschaftliche Islamdiskurse aus sozialwissenschaftlicher und theologisch-sozialethischer Perspektive

Ref. 14049

Methods

Method description

The social science subproject is part of Empirical Subjectivation Research. It used two different data corpuses: One consisting of publicly accessible articles from Swiss newspapers and news portals as well as political requests in the national parliament. The second data corpus consists of the interviews made available here. The Islamic-theological subproject uses grounded theory methodology for data collection and textual analysis for content analysis of the works of various theologians. Contextualisation is integrated as a supplementary method in order to clarify ambiguities and illuminate complex aspects that arose during the analysis. The Christian-social-ethical subproject analyses the works of various theologians with regard to their understanding of conflict and its transformation and then brings them into dialogue with concepts of social science conflict research. Grounded theory and selected literary methods are used to select and analyse texts. Special consideration is given to reflexive approaches that not only include the context of origin and development of the analysed texts and authors in the investigation, but also critically examine the role of the researchers.
