Method description

The data was collected at four different time points. First, in February 2020 (T0), then in September 2020 (T0.5), February 2021 (T1) and March 2022 (T2). At T0, all first- and second-year students at the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (UAS-WS) were invited to participate. At this point, participants could agree to be contacted again for the continuation of the study. At T1 and T2, all T0 participants who agreed were invited to complete the study again. At T0.5, nursing students from la Source School of Nursing were invited to complete the study and to participate in focus groups on their experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic. At each measurement time, participants were invited to participate by an email sent by a data manager independent of the research team. The questionnaires were completed entirely online, and the responses were anonymised by the data manager and forwarded to the research team. The following questionnaires were included in the study: demographic questionnaire; Quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF scale); perceived stress (PSS-14 for French- and English-speaking participants and PSS-10 for German-speaking participants); generalized self-efficacy (GSES); resilience (CD-RISC®); mindfulness (MAAS); perceived social support (MSPSS); human flourishing (SFI); and post-traumatic growth (PTGI).
