In order to carry out this survey, which falls within the scope of descriptive studies relating to the prescribed and taught curriculum (Dufays & Brunel 2016: 248), four sources of data were explored: current prescribed documents, a set of syntheses and school textbooks, teaching materials collected from respondents, and practices reported by teachers. These corpora are situated within the different domains defined by Reuter (2007b: 70): domains of prescriptions, recommendations, and practices. Only the data directly generated within the framework of our project—those relating to reported practices—are retained here: curricula as well as teaching materials are public documents freely accessible.
A comprehensive presentation of the data can be found in Luc Mahieu’s dissertation (2025).
