Method description

Target population: Turkish- and Kurdish-speaking migrants living in Switzerland Data collection: - Documentation of contacts with associations and groups - Documentation of contacts with professionals and specialized agencies that support the project - Documentation of activities for valorization (presentations, publications) - Questionnaire survey of course participants at the beginning of the course (T1) and three months after the stop-smoking day (T2) - CO measurements continuously during the smoking cessation course - Follow-up telephone survey of course participants 12 months after the smoking cessation day - Written description and evaluation of each course by the course instructor - Interview with the course instructors on the implementation and effect of the courses Participation rate: Over the entire implementation period, from 2006 to 2019, 6’605 Turkish-speaking migrants in Switzerland received tobacco-related information and were offered tailored treatment for smokers and smoking relatives. From these contacts, 81 smoking-cessation courses have resulted.
