Two test formats are currently used in the Checks: paper-based tests and computer-based tests. While Check P3 and Check P5 are carried out as paper-based tests in which students are administered the same set of items, Check S2 and Check S3 are mainly designed as multi-stage computer-based tests where students are administered items which best suit their competence levels. All writing assessments are conducted on paper.
