Democratic ideals - Pre-Study

Data collection between July and December 2020

Facebook recruitment with participants from Switzerland, Germany, Great Britain, France

The project searched to link conceptions - comprehensive sets of perceptions - of democracy with political actions. The project took a large approach towards democracy in order to identify specific conceptions of democratic ideals. It includes ESS- style Likert scales on ideals of democracy, as well as a 100-points question and socio-demographic elements. The recruitement occured via Facebook using Limesurvey for data collection (run on university servers)

Preliminary results show that voting is influenced by specific conceptions of democracy. Economic elements often interact with democracy specific elements.
