Ref. 12928

Methoden

Erhebungsmodus

First, a nationwide representative survey of MiL will be conducted by a survey institute using the SMiLE. Second, patients at the end of life (prognosis <6 months) in the 3 participating centers (Lausanne, Bellinzona, St. Gallen) will be asked to complete the SMiLE alongside with questionnaires on personal values (PVQ), spirituality (FACIT-Sp), and religiosity (IIR), as well as the Schedule of Attitudes towards Hastened Death (SAHD) and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). The patient survey will be repeated after 4 weeks if possible, in order to gather longitudinal data. The length of the study interview will be kept as short as possible (<1h) to minimize patient burden and attrition.
