Study 1 aims to explore if being overqualified can simultaneously foster and decrease favourable job attitudes and well-being. Data shall be gathered in a multi-source approach using questionnaires and hypotheses will be tested by applying regression-based conditional process analysis.
The goal of Study 2 is to show that overqualification can exert a buffering effect on daily stress processes. Data shall be collected in a diary study design again using a multi-source approach. As the dataset will have a nested structure (i.e., days will be nested within persons), we will apply multilevel modelling.
Based on social exchange theory the aim of study 3 is to identify boundary conditions that mitigate the negative relationship between overqualification and favourable behaviours at work. To this study we will apply longitudinal design. Data will be gathered by questionnaires and will be analysed using regression-based conditional process analysis.
