This project uses methodological approaches developed in political sciences, economics, political theory, and data science to quantify and qualify the gap between countries’ NDCs and national policies. Specifically, we combine several research traditions including policy network analysis, expert interviews, econometric analysis, forecasting political negotiation outcomes, content-based coding, qualitative comparative analysis and regression analysis, among others. We use both qualitative (e.g. interviews and text analysis) and quantitative data collection methods (e.g. online surveys, web scraping, natural language processing).
