Life-Strategies and Survival Strategies of Households and Individuals in South-East European Societies in the Times of Crisis

Ref. 13863

Methods

Method description

Data collection mode was CAPI - Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing. The survey was conducted by face-to-face interviews in the household of the respondents. The survey research method included the following: Contact with every sampled household or adult should be attempted at least 4 times (3 call backs) during fieldwork. The contact attempts should be spread over different times of the day and days of the week and the weekend.

Method (instruments)

Population, unit of observation

The population represented by the sample represents the population of Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia, aged over 25, based on the assumption that there was a very small possibility that anyone under the age of 25 could be a fully-fledged creator of a household or that they could directly report on the formulation and realization of strategies. The household was the unit of analysis.

Participant selection or sampling method (census, random sampling, other sampling method (specify))

In order to ensure a random sample, the Ipsos Adria standard method of random sampling was used.
