Usage License

A bilateral contract between the end user and the responsible Data Service Unit handles the restricted access to data where there is potential disclosure risk. If you don’t select any Additional Restrictions (“None”), the data can be used for non-academic purposed (journalists, NGOs, etc). By selecting this option, complete download statistics can be obtained. Additionally, in the event of a new version, users will be notified and informed of the changes made in the new version.

Object of agreement The present agreement regulates use of data collected in the Migration-Mobility Survey, as well the contact information of participants that agreed to an in-depth interview. Data use I hereby commit myself 1. to inform the data provider in written form about the research question(s) and the intended analyses (brief description) no later than at the time of data transfer. 2. to comply with current laws and regulations on data protection when working with the data, and not to undertake any effort to identify individuals based on the data. 3. to use the data carefully, considering the associated documentation and specifications. 4. not to make the data available to a third party. In a research team, all users have to sign the contract individually. 5. not to link the data with other individual data and not to use the data for commercial purposes. Publications and methodological principals I hereby commit myself 6. not to publish results based on less than 5 observations. 7. to forward or publish the results of my analyses in such a way that individual persons remain unidentifiable. 8. to cite all used data and documents conforming with accepted scientific standards. In case of publication of the results, the data provider is informed and any copies of publications, papers, and/or presentations based in whole or in part on the data is transferred. Send the following documents to the data provider a. an official request, stating the aims of your research, target population, etc. b. documents to conduct your fieldwork, such as interview grits, consent agreements, etc. c. the signed data use agreement. d. based on a preliminary consultation of the questionnaire, a description of the exact profile of participants that you would like to contact. 10. The requested profiles will then be selected and sent by a secure transfer channel (switchfilesender). You will also receive an Excel-File with further instructions that needs to be completed and send back once the fieldwork is completed.
