The project uses a mixed-method approach, combining demographic analysis of official data, a survey of migrants, and qualitative interviews with migrants selected among the survey participants. The demographic analyses are based on marriage records of the vital statistics from 1969 to 2009 as well as on data of the Swiss Census (1970, 1980, 1990, 2000).
