The data available in this dataset are the ones collected within the work package 1 of the UNEMPOL project. Period covered: Comparative data file: 1995-2002 Extended Swiss data file: 1990-2002 Data in the Swiss file covering 1995-2002 might not perfectly correspond to the Swiss data for the same period in the comparative data file Both SPSS and Stata formats are available.

Since the data is old, it was not possible to dissolve and clean all the problems with reasonable effort when preparing the data. Users are asked to review the documentation “UNEMPOL - Political Claim-Making: Known issues regarding the data” before working with the data. The documentation provides an overview of all variables for which there are no defined (according to the questionnaire) recorded values.

The SPSS data files have been replaced by a more cleaned version.
